Return

Are you thinking of returning to Asturias to work?

  • What formalities do I have to complete before returning to Spain?
Among the most important procedures you must follow before returning to Spain are the following: The application for consular leave. Requesting your birth certificate, if you do not have one. Checking that your passport is valid. Ensuring the transfer of your belongings. Proof of marriage or family record book.

  • How do I apply for consular leave?
The consular deregistration must be applied for at the Spanish Consulate Register corresponding to your place of residence. For more information, you should consult the Consulate’s website, but in general you will be asked for: Application for a cancellation certificate indicating the purpose for which it is requested. Copy of the DNI or passport of the applicant. If the applicant is a minor, a copy of the DNI or passport of the parent signing the application must also be provided. If the parent is not registered as a resident in the Consular Register, a copy of the family book or birth certificate of the minor must also be provided. It can also be requested by e-mail from the corresponding Consulate. The consular registration will state the beginning and end of the stay abroad as a Spanish citizen.

  • How do I manage the transfer of cash to Asturias?
As long as the amount is equal to or greater than 10,000 euros (or equivalent at the currency exchange rate), it must be declared by completing form S1 of the Spanish Tax Agency, which you must present to the Spanish Tax Office or to the customs service (if you come from a third country), always justifying the origin of the money.

  • How do I transfer my savings to Asturias?¿Cómo traslado mis ahorros a Asturias?
If you live in a European Union country or in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Vatican City, San Marino, Monaco and Andorra, you can make a SEPA transfer. SEPA credit transfers are made between banks in the Single Euro Payments Area. The fees will depend on the bank from which they are made. If you are coming from a third country, you can make a SWIFT transfer. The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication is an organisation that facilitates international transfers and to which most banks are affiliated. Its cost and time are higher than SEPA transfers.
